Sammy D NewsOctober - December 2011DREAM IT (Dance Representing Expression Awareness and Mentoringthrough Inclusive Transition)Our new and exciting school based program DREAM IT haswrapped up for the year with fantastic results. The DREAMIT Crew visited 7 schools (some multiple times) and workedwith over 2000 Primary School students and staff. TheCrew also performed alongside Guidance Crew in RundleMall as part of the South Australian National YouthMentoring Week Launch. Both Crews were a highlight of theday, click here to see videos of these performances.The evaluation by members of DREAM IT revealed thatoverall the program was received positively by allparticipants; 100% of the DREAM IT students surveyedwould recommend the DREAM IT program to other students.100% of the students also agreed that the DREAM ITprogram will achieve its goal of helping new students settleinto Parafield Gardens High School (PGHS) quickly. DREAM IT members were asked if they shared what theyhad learnt with family and friends; 100% said yes:"I have told my family.. How good it feels when you see theyounger students so happy and excited to learn the dance...
