On
the 3rd of October, at the South
Adelaide Football Club presentation
night, team mates of Sam’s - Ashley Weckert and Michael Kenyon
shaved their
dreadlocks off to raise money for the
Sammy d Foundation. Michael was the
first one in the chair with many team
mates and family members paying
$5:00 to cut off a single Dreadlock.
Then Angelo from Tuccis Hairdesign went
to work on him to a lot of cheering from
family and mates. After using the
clippers Angelo then got out the soap
and water and even the cut throat razor.
Ashley was next up and
he looked like he
was wishing he went first. Once again
team mates and family members
paid
$5:00 to cut off a single Dreadlock and
then Angelo went to work to much delight
of family and friends.
In
keeping with the spirit of the night
Vince Kent (father of Chris Kent) shaved
off his more than impressive moustache
to raise some extra bucks. This was an
impressive effort since even his family
had never seen him without a moustache.
Once
again our thanks go out to everyone
involved on the night and to the
families of the boy’s who went to local
GSFL games to raise money and promote
awareness of the foundation.

Kayleen Kenyon has been a tireless
worker in the Great Southern area
providing an important link to the
foundation from an area that produces
some really talented young athletes. So
if you see Kayleen Kenyon in
Strathalbyn or at any of the country
games buy a stubbie holder or any
merchandise from her and congratulate
her on the effort she has put in.
