Thank you to Liquor Industry Golf Club (LGIC) for supporting the Sammy D Foundation at their annual golf day that is held in February each year to support Children's charities in South Australia. This support is allowing the Sammy D Foundation to obtain a shipping container that will store equipment at their HQ for mentoring activity equipment.

This year’s event for the LIGC Charity Golf Day was held on Monday 5 February at Grange Golf Club with over 288 players in attendance.

Over $91,000 from the 2023 Charity Day was distributed to their selected children’s charities of which the Sammy D Foundation was one!

This Charity Day is a key event on the hospitality golf calendar and has raised considerable funds over the past 69 years of approx. $3million. It is attended by many industry businesses, providers and a gang of hoteliers who also volunteer their help on the day.

Exceptional on-going sponsorship has been assured by major sponsorship partners in BankSA and Grange Golf Club to key corporates with Thomas Foods Australia, West End/Lion Beverages, Coopers Brewery, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, CUB Premium Beverages and many other allied liquor industry providers.

Rob Gillies, Chair of the LIGC Charity Day committee, understands what it will mean to the children’s charities who benefit from the funds this year.

“Our donations assist specific needs within charity groups for children who are most vulnerable, and we certainly push hard to gain valuable dollars for their charities via our raffles, silent and major auctions on the day. The day is guaranteed each year with our continued support from BankSA along with Grange Golf Club"  Rob said.

The funds received from this event will support the Sammy D Foundation to continue it's work in the community.
