Sammy D HQ is getting a face lift!

Sammy D HQ is getting a much-needed face lift thanks to new local company, The Paint & Render Co and Wattyl paint.

Everyone knows the iconic South Road building in Edwardstown because of its bold and beautiful blue walls, but it’s been looking a bit tired lately.

The Sammy D team received a comment on social media late last year that the building needed a lick of paint, but the team posted back that their focus was to educate young people on the impacts of bullying, and drug and alcohol fuelled violence, not have a pristine building!

Thankfully D’Artagnan MacDonald from The Paint & Render Co, who have recently opened in Edwardstown, reached out and offered his services to us for free as part of their new initiative “Paint it Forward.”

The Paint & Render Co is on a mission to train the next generation of Painters, Renderers and Roof Restorators across South Australia out of their Edwardstown facility, ensuring they are meeting the labour demands of tomorrow by training and the youth of today.

D’Artagnan and his team will be donating their time and labour for free, alongside Wattyl who are donating 90L of paint to support the project.

"Having lost a sister to suicide at a young age and coming from a disadvantaged background myself, I wholeheartedly believe in the Sammy D Foundation’s purpose to end violence by connecting and empowering young people. This makeover will provide some love, character and attention to the exterior of Sammy D building and ensure their resources are utilised where they are needed most, encouraging and empowering our youth to be the best version of themselves each and everyday".

D'Artagnan MacDonald, Director, The Paint & Render Co

“Wattyl is an enthusiastic supporter of The Sammy D Foundation and had the privilege of contributing to the recent refurbishment of the foundation’s Head Office.  The role the Sammy D Foundation plays in the education of young people on the impact of bullying and drug and alcohol-fuelled violence is literally lifesaving. We are proud to have shown our support and commend the foundation in the vital role it plays in our local communities.”
