Sixes for Sammy: Cricket with a Cause
We’re incredibly grateful to Brighton Cricket Club for hosting their Charity Cricket Tournament on Sunday 26 January 2025, in support of the Sammy D Foundation.
The Sixes for Sammy T10 tournament brought the community together for a day full of cricket, connection, and purpose – raising awareness and funds to end youth violence. It was a fantastic display of community spirit, with Brighton Cricket Club proudly fundraising in support of the Sammy D Foundation.
Thanks to the generosity of players, families, and supporters, the event raised an amazing $4,100 to help us continue delivering life-changing education and mentoring programs to young people across South Australia.
The day featured a mix of junior and senior matches, including:
- Boys Under-10
- Boys Under-13 & Girls Under-15
- Boys Under-15 & Girls Under-18
A Junior Blast program for under 8s also ran in the morning, giving the youngest cricketers a fun and inclusive way to get involved.
Player registrations were donated as part of the fundraising effort – with seniors and juniors contributing $25 and Junior Blast participants $10, all going toward the cause.
From everyone at the Sammy D Foundation – thank you to Brighton Cricket Club for your support, and to every player, volunteer, and spectator who made the day so special.
What a way to bring people together – hitting sixes for a safer future.
