Through education and awareness programs focused on violence prevention, bullying prevention and alcohol and drug education, the Sammy D Foundation offers advice and support to people of all ages, equipping them with knowledge needed to keep safe whilst still enjoying their life journey.

“Having seen firsthand the benefits of the Sammy D programs in schools I am thrilled that these benefits can now be extended to Sport SA member sporting clubs. This also builds nicely on our recent mental health forum for our clubs, providing another avenue for our South Australia sporting community to be supported in their efforts to improve the mental health and wellbeing of their communities.” Leah Cassidy, Chief Executive Officer – Sport SA.

The Sammy D Foundation  have ten completely subsidised violence prevention and positive parental role modelling education sessions titled “Monkey See Monkey Do” to offer Sport SA members, thanks to the support of Ansvar Insurance.

“We are excited about the opportunity working alongside the Sport SA team to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for SA communities through sport and education” said Brigid Koenig, General Manager – Sammy D Foundation.

Over the next two years, Sport SA will work closely with the Sammy D Foundation in executing these programs throughout sporting clubs, with the mission to significantly reduce the impact of drugs, alcohol and violence in sport throughout South Australia.

The Sammy D Foundation will also feature in this year’s SA Sport Awards & Hall of Fame Dinner on Friday 22nd November at the Adelaide Oval, as the event Charity Partner.

At Sport SA, we look forward to assisting our members and the wider sporting community with these ongoing resources and programs, thanks to the Sammy D Foundation.
